About the role
n
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business and Private Client Advisory division, which supports a range of small, medium and large private businesses and family groups, along with some not-for-profit and foreign owned businesses. We offer a wide range of services including accounting & tax compliance, business & tax advisory, structuring, superannuation, wealth management and transactional services.
n
As an integral member of our close-knit team, you will be given exposure to a diverse range of clients and the opportunity to further develop and grow and your skill set. You will manage, develop and administer a portfolio of SW clients, taking full ownership of allocated jobs and managing your workflow. This involves maintaining an appropriate level of service to clients and producing a high standard of work. You will also be responsible for delegating and reviewing work undertaken by junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop, manage and administer a portfolio of SW's clients, including:
n
Develop budgets, Manage WIPs and bill clients
n
Meet deadlines and provide quality and timely service to clients
n
Maintain a high level of customer service to all clients
n
Perform all compliance and value add work
n
Review financial accounts, FBT and income tax returns, business activity statements, instalment activity statements and any other work performed by Intermediates, Graduates, Co-Operative Students and Cadets
n
Prepare and review complex individual, company, trust, and Partnership tax returns
n
Prepare and review workpapers, analyse client data and transactions and set up accounts
n
Provide feedback, coaching and technical support to any BPCA team member working on clients
n
Provide technical support and guidance to an allocated team of Intermediates and Graduates
n
Identify and develop existing and potential business opportunities within client base
n
Report to the Manager on the performance of team members and status of client obligations and issues
n
Assist with potential and new client opportunities or initiatives such as attending client meetings, preparation of advice and presentations
n
Administrative Compliance
n
Other duties as required by the firm such as interviewing clients, attendance at training, marketing, acting as a buddy/mentor to a new member of staff, special projects, etc.

Key Skills and Experience
n
n
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Business Services environment in a Chartered/CPA accounting practice
n
Degree qualified and nearly/fully qualified as a CA / CPA
n
Technically proficient and up to date with developments in taxation law and accounting standards, systems and processes
n
Advanced working knowledge of GST, Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
n
Detailed knowledge of tax office correspondence and procedures
n
Thorough understanding of company secretarial matters
n
Advanced understanding of the Corporations Act, accounting standards, tax legislation
n
Ability to review the work of junior members of staff and identify any issues and opportunities for discussion
n
Previous experience working with and developing good relationships with clients
n
Excellent time management skills and meeting deadlines for a large group of clients
n
Ability to mentor, coach, motivate and manage junior members of staff
n
Present professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
n
Prior experience working with APS, Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
