What You'll Be DOING
n
n
Underwrite, manage and service a renewal book and produce new business in accordance with business unit goals.
n
Negotiate with producers within the limits of your delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards.
n
Underwrite within Group rules & guidelines.
n
Effective engagement with brokers, ensuring relationship growth and a good flow of new business.
n
Uphold and enhance AXA XL's brand in the market.
n
Accountability for underwriting results of the construction book; contributing to overall strategy and financial planning.
n
Collaborate with colleagues from wider AXA XL, cross‐selling with other products where appropriate.
n
n
You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Energy and Construction – Australia.
n
What You Will BRING
n
Required Skills And Abilities
n
n
Bachelor's degree preferred with equivalent senior experience in Construction underwriting.
n
A technical underwriting background in Construction line of business with a demonstrable background in writing large complex corporate risks.
n
Analytical Skills – visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze and solve complex problems.
n
Industry Knowledge – understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios to positively impact the underwriting business.
n
Ability to respond to a changing market environment with flexibility and innovation.
n
Ability to work independently.
n
Excellent interpersonal skills and collegiate behaviour.
n
Commercially astute and able to contribute to growth and development of the construction portfolio.
n
