Overview Of The Role

Yackandandah Health Medical Centre is seeking a Vocationally Registered (VR) General Practitioner to provide locum or casual coverage from 14 August **** until the end of September ****, with the opportunity for an ongoing part-time position for the right candidate.
n
We are a well-established, community-focused rural general practice located in North East Victoria and are co-located with an 84-bed Residential Aged Care Facility. The successful applicant will join a supportive and collaborative team consisting of experienced GPs, nursing staff, administration staff, and allied health professionals.
n
The role includes providing comprehensive general practice services to community patients, with the chance to participate in Residential Aged Care services.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide high-quality, patient-centred general practice care.
n
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
n
Develop and implement management plans.
n
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using Best Practice software.
n
Work collaboratively with nurses, administration staff, and other healthcare providers.
n
Participate in preventative health, chronic disease management, care planning, and health assessments.
n
Residential Aged Care visits are available.
n

Essential Qualifications, Registration & Experience
n
n




Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
n
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
n
Vocationally Registered (VR) GP eligible to bill Medicare.
n
Current Medicare Provider Number (or eligibility to obtain one).
n
Current Prescriber Number.
n
Current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
n
Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
n
Current Working with Children Check (Victoria) or willingness to obtain.
n
Current CPR certification.
n
Experience using Best Practice software is desirable but not essential.
n
Previous rural general practice experience would be highly regarded.
n

Remuneration
n
n
Competitive percentage-based remuneration (65% of billings) or an agreed daily locum rate, depending on the successful applicant and engagement arrangements.
n
Accommodation and travel assistance may be negotiated for locum applicants.
n
n
Hours
n
n
Approximately 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday), with flexibility for the right applicant.
n
No after-hours or on-call requirements.
n
n
