What You'll Do
n
Project & Development Accounting
n
n
Maintain accurate job cost accounting across development and construction projects, ensuring costs are correctly allocated by project, stage, cost code and entity
n
Monitor project budgets versus actuals and assist with cost-to-complete and cash flow forecasting
n
Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
n
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations (WIP, creditors, retention, GST, intercompany)
n
Support preparation of monthly management reports, project financial reports and development summaries
n
Assist with statutory reporting requirements, including GST/BAS and audit support
n
Liaise with external accountants for the end of financial year reports and IAS returns
n

Project Costing & A/P Support
n
n
Process subcontractor, supplier and consultant invoices in Procore, Jobpac and MYOB/Xero, ensuring correct entity, job, cost code and approval workflow
n
Liaise with Project Managers, Contract Administrators and suppliers to resolve invoice queries, missing documentation or coding issues
n
Monitor invoice approval status in Procore and follow up to ensure invoices are approved and paid on time
n
Process urgent and ad hoc payments in line with approved procedures
n

Systems & Administration
n
n
Assist with credit applications, document filing and digital record management
n
Support continuous improvement of accounts processes and workflows
n
Maintain the integrity of data across MYOB, Xero, Procore, Jobpac and other platforms, resolving sync or integration issues
n
Provide day-to-day support to the Finance Manager with accounts, reporting preparation, banking and project cost reviews
n
Work collaboratively with the wider finance and project teams to support smooth financial operations
n

Requirements
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
3+ years' experience in an accounting or assistant accountant role, ideally within construction, property development or project-based environments
n
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, accrual accounting and project financial controls
n
Experience using Jobpac (highly desirable)
n
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
n
Confident communicator able to work closely with Project Managers, Contract Administrators and external stakeholders
n
Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills
n
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field
n
CA/CPA (or working towards) desirable
n
