Job Description
Location: Head Office at Derrimut with laboratories across Melbourne Metro area.

Are you a seasoned technical leader with a passion for quality, innovation, and sustainability? We are currently seeking a Technical Manager to oversee the technical operations of our recycling division and drive recycled product acceptance across our Melbourne and Brisbane markets. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring high-quality technical services, driving product innovation and acceptance, and supporting our commitment to zero harm.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Lead all technical aspects of recycling operations to ensure the quality and consistency of aggregate products.
n
Provide expert technical support to both internal and external customers resolving issues, developing practical solutions, and enhancing product performance.
n
Manage laboratory operations, ensuring customer-focused service, effective cost control, and compliance with NATA and Australian Standards.
n
Drive continuous improvement in product quality, sampling, testing, and inspection processes.
n
Champion innovation by researching and developing new recycled products and cost-effective raw material substitutes.
n
Leading product advocacy with relevant local/state and federal government agencies, engaging with relevant consultancies with aim to influence specifications and drive further uptake of recycled products in the market.
n
Promote and enforce a strong health, safety, and environmental culture aligned with company policies and legislative requirements.
n
Oversee risk management, reporting, and ensure adherence to WH&S; and environmental standards.
n

What You Bring to the Role:
n
Experience & Qualifications:
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical support role within aggregate laboratory operations.
n
Minimum 5 years of proven management experience.
n
Degree in Civil or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
n
n
Knowledge & Skills:
n
n
Strong understanding of laboratory operations, compliance testing, and recycled product specifications (AFG preferred).
n
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
n
Robust presentation and advocacy skills.
n
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
n
Strong analytical and lateral thinking skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
n
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and manage teams effectively.
n
