Company Overview:
Our client is a leading global fragrance and flavour house known for their commitment to creativity, innovation, and an acute understanding of sensory perceptions and market trends.
With their continued growth and success, they are seeking a dedicated Flavour Assistant to enhance their technical team.
Role Overview:
As a Flavour assistant you will play a vital role supporting the Head Flavourist and R&D; team in the preparation of flavour formulations.
The role involves accurate compounding of raw materials, laboratory maintenance, documentation, quality compliance and participation in sensory evaluation, ensuring all activities meet GMP, HACCP, and workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Flavourists in compounding flavour samples according to approved formulations, guidelines, and project briefs (typically ***** formulations per day)
Accurately weigh, blend, and dilute raw materials including aroma chemicals, essential oils, and extracts
Prepare flavour samples for internal sensory evaluation, customer submissions, and Quality Control (QC) testing
Submit finished products for QC verification and specification approval
Maintain adequate stock levels of raw materials, laboratory consumables, and packaging supplies
Ensure correct handling, storage, and disposal of raw materials in line with safety data sheets (SDS) and risk assessments




Maintain detailed electronic records in Dory of formulations, raw materials, inventory, and finished products
Ensure laboratory equipment, including weighing balances, is calibrated and functioning correctly
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic laboratory environment
Support flavour evaluation sessions, sensory panels, and flavour library development
Provide technical and application support to internal teams and assist with external customer briefs
Comply with GMP, HACCP, GLP, and workplace health and safety requirements at all times
Skills and Experience:
Proficient computer skills, knowledge of Dory considered a significant advantage
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused work approach
A Certificate, Associate degree, or Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent practical lab experience
