Task & responsibilities
You will play a key role in supporting children's daily routines, learning experiences, and overall well‐being in a safe and inclusive environment.
Working collaboratively with educators and families, you will help foster each child's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
As the Group Leader you will:
Create and implement a responsive educational program aligned with the EYLF, children's interests, and developmental needs
Follow the learning cycle through observation, planning, documentation, and reflection
Maintain up-to-date and meaningful documentation, including learning stories, floorbooks, and developmental summaries
Lead a nurturing and play‐rich environment, fostering secure relationships with children and families
Support children's social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviours and respectful interactions
Facilitate engaging learning experiences through stories, music, sensory play, group time, and hands‐on provocations
Respond to children's cues with warmth, curiosity, and intention - reading, playing, and interacting to support emerging skills
Oversee daily routines including meals, rest, toileting, and transitions, ensuring calm and consistent practice
Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment, maintaining high standards for supervision, hygiene, and wellbeing
Collaborate with your co‐educators, sharing ideas, supporting each other's growth, and contributing to a positive team culture
Engage in ongoing professional learning, reflection, and team meetings to support high‐quality practice
Build strong partnerships with families, sharing learning, celebrating milestones, and supporting each child's journey
Qualification & experience
An Early Childhood Certificate III, IV and Diploma recognized at a Children's Services Employee Level 4 or higher.
At least 12 months of full time work experience in a related role
Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management certifications.
Strong administrative skills, with a knack for time management.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and positively with children and adults.
Proven leadership skills and high self‐motivation.
