Position Information
Parramatta High School, established in ****, is a co-educational, partially selective secondary
school located in the city of Parramatta.
The school has an enrolment of **** students.
The
community is multicultural with an ethnic composition of 96% LBOTE and two Aboriginal students.
The school has approximately 76 teaching staff and 17 support staff.
The school receives funding
for EAL/D, Integration Funding and Refugee Student Support.
Parramatta High School has a culture of high expectations and a vision to ensure that all students
successfully transition through each stage of their learning.
Explicit and differentiated teaching
programs support all students including High Potential and Gifted learners as well as those with
additional learning needs.

Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,




Demonstrated experience in using data-informed improvement cycles and evaluative practice to lead school plan initiatives that drive improvement in student outcomes in a partially selective school setting with a range of student learning needs.
High level organisational skills along with the demonstrated ability to manage self and others in the complex and competing priorities of day to day operations.
Solid capability to collaboratively lead the whole school as a member of the Senior Executive and Executive Team.
Demonstrated ability to drive and implement authentic student wellbeing initiatives and extra-curricular development programs in consultation with the whole school community including staff, students, parents and external partners.
General Selection Criteria
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents




Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
