Role & Purpose
n
Acclime is looking for a compliance-driven Tax Manager to join our high performing tax team.
n
The role will be responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of high-quality tax compliance services, ensuring client obligations are met accurately, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
n
The role provides technical compliance expertise, manages complex tax matters and supports the development of team capability to drive exceptional client outcomes.
n
Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, the Tax Manager ensures compliance processes are continually improved, risks are effectively managed and opportunities for value-added tax advisory services are identified.

What you will be doing?
n
n
Leadership, mentoring and management of Acclime Australia's tax compliance team;
n
Lead the tax compliance function;
n
Review of tax compliance items for clients – FBT returns, Income Tax Returns, ESS reporting and other such submissions to the ATO;
n
Provide general tax advice to Acclime Australia Group clients, including but not limited to matters in respect of cross-border taxation issues. This may be verbal, by e-mail and by way of formal letters of tax advice;

Identifying and escalating areas requiring specialist input including from Tax Advisory, Transfer Pricing and R&D; Advisory;
n
Provide tax advice to Acclime Australia Group management, including preparation and / or review and lodgement of annual tax returns and annual FBT returns for the Acclime Australia Group;
n
Provide general support to the entire Acclime Group (includes Acclime Group overseas affiliates) as and when required in relation to Australian tax;
n
Managing the tax compliance practice including profit & loss to ensure the annual budget for any year is met;[PZ1.1] assist in the preparation of the annual budget; team development & training, including staff reviews;
n
Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office;
n
Adherence to Acclime's low risk model in relation to R&D; services; and
n
Other ad-hoc duties for the Company, clients and the Acclime Group as required.

What are we looking for?
n
n
Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or law
n
CA or CPA qualification or higher education in tax (CTA or Masters of Tax) (preferred)
n
Registered Tax Agent (preferred)
n
Minimum 6 – 8 years' Australian public practice tax compliance experience




n
Strong technical expertise across Australian taxation legislation
n
n
Strong working knowledge of:
n
n
Corporate income tax compliance.
n
Interaction between Income Tax and R&D.;
n
Tax effect accounting and deferred tax concepts.
n
FBT compliance and advisory.
n
PAYG instalments and tax payments.
n
GST interaction with direct taxes.
n
ATO reporting and review processes.
n
n
Experience preparing and/or reviewing:
n
n
Company tax returns
n
Trust tax returns
n
Tax reconciliations
n
FBT returns
n
Tax calculations and workpapers
n
ATO correspondence and responses
n
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently
n
Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams
n
Experience or demonstrated ability to lead and mentor developing team members
n
Proficiency in accounting and tax software and Microsoft Office applications
n
