About our Client:

CoreStaff Darwin are conducting a Recruitment Campaign for Payroll Officer Talent in the Darwin Region!
n
About the Role & Responsibilities:
n
We are looking for Payroll Professions to perform end-to-end payroll processing ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery of payroll services while providing valuable workforce reporting and insights.
n
n
Process payroll accurately and on time including across potential Group entities
n
Manage payroll changes including new starters, terminations, timesheets, pay adjustments, and off-cycle payments
n
Calculate final pays and complete payroll requirements for employee departures
n
Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including tax, banking, and payroll information
n
Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries
n
Process payroll payments, including banking files and related transactions
n
Prepare and lodge payroll compliance requirements, including PAYG, superannuation, IAS, and workers compensation reporting
n
Support end-of-financial-year payroll activities, including reconciliations, STP finalisation, and audit requirements
n
Prepare payroll and workforce reports for Finance, HR, and management
n
Maintain payroll systems and ensure data accuracy
n
Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes and reporting
n
Maintain payroll procedures and documentation to support compliance
n
Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers
n
Work closely with Finance and People & Culture to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting
n
n
To be successful for this role, you will need the following:
n
n
Experience processing payroll and across multiple departments or business entities would be of benefit!
n
Experience managing payroll for approximately 300 employees, with exposure to weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles highly regarded.
n
Exposure to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions is desirable.
n
Previous payroll experience within the construction and/or hospitality industries is advantageous.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
n
Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, up-to-date awards, and enterprise agreements.
n
A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
n
Minimum of 1–2 years' payroll experience in a similar role.
