Job Description
n
Lead complex security engagements for some of Australia's most regulated organisations
n
Step into a senior, trusted‐advisor role with real technical ownership
n
Join a collaborative, high‐performing Managed Services practice
n
n
At Fusion5, we're not just technology partners – we're Transformation Partners. Across Australia and New Zealand, we help organisations go beyond individual platforms to design and deliver connected, future‐ready solutions that create real business impact.
n
Our Managed Services Security Practice continues to grow, supporting complex security initiatives for some of our most strategic and highly regulated customers. We're now looking for a Senior Security Consultant to take on the most senior delivery‐focused technical role within the practice.
n
This is a hands‐on, front‐of‐room consulting role for someone who thrives on leading complex engagements while mentoring the team around them. You'll work alongside the Security Team Lead as a senior escalation point for consultants, project teams and customers, balancing deep technical delivery with coaching and capability uplift across the wider practice.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
Leading the delivery of large, complex and strategically significant security engagements, with a focus on data security and/or identity security.
n
Acting as the primary technical resource for high‐profile customer initiatives, from discovery through to implementation and transition.
n
Running customer workshops, technical deep dives, design discussions and remediation planning sessions.
n
Providing expert guidance across Microsoft Security technologies, translating customer requirements into practical, supportable outcomes.
n
Supporting architecture and solution design conversations and ensuring the end result is fit for purpose and well understood by customer stakeholders – without owning the architecting yourself.
n
Acting as a senior technical escalation point for complex security incidents and service issues.
n
Coordinating and guiding delivery activities involving multiple consultants, while delegating appropriately without losing accountability for quality.
n
Mentoring, coaching and supporting Security Consultants and Graduate Consultants, sharing knowledge through training, workshops and peer reviews.
n
Contributing to Work Orders, Change Requests and effort estimates.
n
Proactively identifying project risks and delivery challenges, working with Project Managers and Team Leads to resolve them.
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
Extensive experience delivering Microsoft Security solutions in enterprise environments, ideally with strength in data security and/or identity security.
n
A track record of leading complex technical security projects and engagements end‐to‐end.
n
Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‐technical execs and end users.
n
Experience facilitating workshops, technical discovery sessions and implementation activities.
n
A solid grasp of security best practice, governance frameworks and operational security requirements.
n
Experience mentoring consultants and supporting capability development within technical teams.
n
A current security clearance (baseline or above) or the ability to obtain one – highly desirable.
n
Microsoft Security certifications (SC‐100, SC‐200, SC‐300, SC‐400,
AZ‐500 or equivalent), CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ or GSEC – desirable but not essential if you bring strong real‐world experience.
n
Exposure to Huntress, ThreatLocker or AvePoint – desirable.
n
n
Please note that only candidates based in Melbourne or Sydney, with current and unrestricted rights to work in Australia, can be considered for this role.
n
What's in it for you?
n
"Go Beyond" isn't a marketing line at Fusion5, it's the standard we hold ourselves to. For our Security Practice, that means bringing together deep technical capability, trusted advisory and a commitment to protecting what matters most for our customers, with AI increasingly shaping how we deliver security outcomes.
n
At Fusion5, you'll have the autonomy to help shape a practice, the backing of an established trans‐Tasman organisation, and the opportunity to work alongside people who truly care about outcomes – not just output. We're proud to be a diverse, inclusive and forward‐thinking employer, and we're committed to creating a workplace where our people feel engaged, challenged, supported and successful. Alongside this, we offer a strong set of values and benefits that reflect how we work and what we stand for.
n
n
A collaborative, down‐to‐earth culture where people truly enjoy working together.
n
Flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on work‐life balance.
n
Birthday leave, volunteer days and regular social events.
n
Opportunities for professional growth with clear development plans.
n
n
If you're a senior security consultant who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring and seeing engagements through to successful delivery – even if you don't tick every box – we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.
n
Great outcomes start with great conversations
