About the Role
n
We're seeking an experienced optometrist to join our team in a senior associate role that combines clinical excellence with genuine involvement in the leadership and ongoing development of the practice. This is a full time position based in our Morningside practice.

This opportunity suits an optometrist who enjoys patient care and is ready to contribute beyond the consulting room. You'll maintain a strong clinical focus while acting as a senior contributor to practice discussions, systems, and culture. You'll work closely with the practice owner and collaborate respectfully with an experienced team that includes specialist optometrists.

Leadership in this role is based on professionalism, communication, and constructive input – not hierarchy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Clinical Excellence:
n

Provide comprehensive eye examinations and patient-centered care
n
Manage a varied and engaging clinical caseload
n
Act as a senior clinical resource within the optometry team
n
Support clinical standards, protocols, and compliance
n
Collaborate effectively with specialist optometrists and optical staff
n
Assist with mentoring and informal support of team members where appropriate
n
Contribute to practice culture and professional standards
n
n
Practice Development:
n
n
Contribute ideas to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency
n
Participate in discussions relating to practice operations and future planning
n
Influence clinical and operational direction as the practice evolves
n
n
About You
n
Essential qualifications and experience:
n
n
AHPRA registered Optometrist with solid post-qualification experience
n
Confident and clinically well-rounded across full-scope optometry
n
Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
n
Professional, reliable, and patient-focused approach
n
Comfortable working alongside experienced and specialist clinicians
n
Commercially aware with an interest in how independent practices operate
n
Experience in dry eye management, myopia control, contact lenses, or specialty services (welcomed but not required)
n
Interest in contributing to practice growth and development
n
