We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Team Lead to join a well-known, fast-growing business with operations across Australia and New Zealand. This role will see you leading a small payroll team while overseeing the delivery of accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services in a high-volume environment. Their vibrant and modern office is based in the inner-city suburbs, with flexibility to work from home 1 day a week as well as additional leave entitlements and excellent staff discounts.

The Opportunity
n
In this role, you'll take charge of the payroll function, guiding your team to meet deadlines, maintain compliance, and deliver exceptional service to the business. You'll be hands-on in processing, while also focusing on team leadership, reporting, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead a small payroll team, providing coaching, support, and regular performance feedback
n
Oversee payroll operations for both Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legislation
n
Monitor and interpret awards, enterprise agreements,



and leave entitlements
n
Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries for month-end and year-end cycles
n
Partner with internal stakeholders to identify efficiencies and streamline workflows
n
Contribute to payroll-related projects and system enhancements
n

About You
n
n
Proven experience managing or supervising payroll in a large, multi-site business
n
Robust knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll requirements, including award interpretation
n
Skilled in payroll reporting, reconciliations, and problem-solving
n
Familiarity with large payroll systems
n
Confident communicator with a collaborative, hands-on leadership style
n
