The Role

Our client is a specialist law firm who is seeking an accomplished senior lawyer with expertise in defamation, financial lines, and commercial litigation to join its high-profile insurance and disputes practice.

In this role, you will manage a diverse and complex mix of matters including defamation, financial lines, coverage, and commercial litigation. You will work on high-value, often high-profile disputes involving reputational issues, media and technology, professional indemnity, directors' and officers' liability, inquiries and inquests, and broader insurance matters. Many of the matters are in the public eye and involve collaboration with leading barristers.

You will have genuine autonomy in running files, opportunities to mentor junior team members, and the ability to contribute to business development activities.

The successful candidate will join a collegiate, high-performing and supportive team, with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements.

Ideally, you will have a strong background in defendant insurance litigation, defamation,



financial lines or commercial litigation and enjoy managing files end-to-end, maintaining direct client contact and building long-term relationships.

The Successful Candidate
n
You will be an Australian-qualified senior lawyer with:
n
n
Minimum 5+ years PQE
n
Experience in defamation, financial lines, insurance litigation, or commercial disputes
n
Strong drafting skills and confident communication style
n
Experience handling mediations, negotiations and settlement conferences
n
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
n
High level of professionalism, client focus, and commercial awareness
n
