Role Overview

Join our new Sydney AI engineering team, building and maintaining Enrich — our AI data‐enrichment product that finds, identifies and codifies data in unstructured documents — and contributing to new AI and agentic capability in the Nuix Neo platform. You'll work across a modern stack (Java, Python,
React/TypeScript/MUI)
in a cross‐timezone team, with plenty of room to grow.

Location

This position will be based in our Sydney office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining 2 days of the week.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver user stories end‐to‐end with high quality and minimal rework.
n
Ensure code styling and design patterns are followed; include meaningful unit tests, with all code covered by the appropriate level of testing.
n
Apply basic security concepts in the code you write and follow secure‐coding practices.
n
Investigate and fix build/test issues in the CI/CD pipeline.
n
Actively participate in backlog grooming and planning, providing reasonable estimates.
n




Share knowledge with the team and contribute to the wiki; support onboarding of newer team members.
n
Grow your understanding of the broader system, including our model‐backed and AI components.
n

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
n
n
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
n
Typically 3+ years of related software engineering experience.
n
Working proficiency in one or more of Java, Python or React/TypeScript, with a willingness to become full‐stack.
n
Solid grasp of testing practices, version control and CI/CD fundamentals.
n
Basic understanding of secure coding concepts.
n
Interest in AI/ML, NLP or document‐intelligence domains is a plus.
n
Communicates clearly, takes feedback well, and shows a proactive, collaborative mindset.
