Natural Hazards, Catastrophe Response Manager

As our Natural Hazards and CAT Response Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping how we respond to some of Australia's most impactful events. Sitting within our GI Claims team, this role is focused on designing and continuously improving our catastrophe response approach, ensuring we are ready to support our customers when it matters most.

You'll lead the way in preparing for and responding to natural hazard events such as flood, bushfire, cyclone and storm, bringing together people, processes and partners to deliver robust outcomes for our customers, communities and business. Your work will directly influence how we build resilience, respond at pace, and care for customers during challenging times.

Responsibilities

n
Design and maintain end‐to‐end catastrophe response plans covering preparation, response and recovery
n
Integrate natural hazard scenarios into business continuity and surge planning for claims operations
n
Lead coordination of claims operations during catastrophe events, guiding decisions and response activities
n
Strengthen partnerships with internal teams and external vendors to ensure effective response capability
n
Monitor operational performance during events and drive improvements to customer outcomes
n
Represent Zurich in industry and community forums focused on resilience and catastrophe response
n

Success Profile
n

Qualifications
n
n
Extensive experience in general insurance claims, including exposure to catastrophe or surge events
n
Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate complex, multi‐stakeholder operations or programs
n
Strong understanding of natural hazards and their impact on customers and insurance portfolios
n
Experience working with industry bodies, government agencies or community organisations
n
Solid knowledge of claims operations and customer journeys in high‐volume environments
n
Ability to interpret operational data and translate insights into clear actions
n
