Head of Engineering | Steer the future of AI

W're excited to represent our client who look for a Head of Engineering for a fast-scaling tech startup backed by tier-one investors to lead the technical evolution of a GenAI-powered product scaling across Australia, the UK, and the US.
n
With strong traction and global expansion underway, we're now looking for a deeply technical leader to help us scale from a lean local team to a global platform.
n
What you'll work with:
n
n
Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling
n
AI: LLM orchestration, real-time inference pipelines, GenAI agents
n
Integrations: EMRs, messaging systems, and regional health infrastructure
n
n
Your impact:
n
n
Scale a high security grade GenAI platform.
n
Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team across regions
n
Architect and execute a roadmap that supports global growth
n
Lead engineering culture, dev processes, and compliance alignment (HIPAA, ISO *****, SOC 2)
n
Balance velocity with technical excellence and long-term scalability
n
n
You bring:
n
n
Leadership experience in fast-growing SaaS companies
n
A history of building production systems that handle sensitive data at scale
n
Deep comfort with shipping and maintaining GenAI and real-time platforms
n
The ability to lead from both the whiteboard and the codebase
n
Suits a direct communicator who is strategic and drives high accountability
n
n
Role is based in Melbourne but open for a discussion if you're based elsewhere.
n
