Overview

We are partnering with a large, enterprise-focused technology services organisation that is significantly expanding its network engineering and delivery capability. They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Technical SME) to play a critical role in the design, implementation, and automation of a nationwide network rollout. This is a hands‐on technical role, suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys working at scale, shaping standards, and solving complex engineering problems. The focus is on technical excellence and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Act as a technical SME across large‐scale routing and switching environments
n
Contribute to high‐level and low‐level network design, standards, and build documentation
n
Lead and support the implementation and rollout of network devices across a large, distributed environment (thousands of endpoints)
n
Support technology migrations, including vendor transitions within enterprise networks
n
Work closely with project, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and automated where possible
n
Develop and improve deployment automation, configuration templates, and repeatable build processes
n
Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support during rollout and BAU phases
n




Help shape future network initiatives and tooling as the practice continues to grow
n

Technical Requirements (Essential)
n
n
Solid hands‐on experience with Juniper Routing & Switching
n
Solid background in Cisco Routing & Switching (enterprise environments)
n
Proven experience delivering large‐scale network deployments or migrations
n
Deep understanding of LAN/WAN design principles, redundancy, and high availability
n
Experience working in complex, multi‐site enterprise networks
n
Exposure to automation or scripting for network deployments
n
n
Nice to Have
n
n
Experience with Juniper Mist AI (or strong interest in learning it)
n
Network automation tooling (e.g. Ansible, Python, vendor‐specific frameworks)
n
Relevant vendor certifications (Juniper and/or Cisco)
n
Experience working on multi‐year transformation or refresh programmes
n
