An opportunity is available for an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
n
The SRMO will work on the resident roster however will be expected to fill a registrar role if there is a gap due to unexpected leave in the registrar roster. The SRMO will be rostered to allow the appropriate clinical experience to enable the step up to the more senior position as required and to develop a degree of independent practice.
n
The successful applicant will be expected to compile the resident roster with consultant assistance, manage leave and encourage participation of residents in educational and unit activities.
n
The Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) will be expected the meet with new residents at the beginning of rotation and to meet regularly with the O&G; resident cohort.
n
It is expected that the SRMO will undertake appropriate audit and research activities.
n
Having 6 months of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology is desirable.
n
Salary
n
$121,540 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
n
Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement ****
n

Period of Employment
n
Fixed term, full time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 February **** until 7 February ****.

Appointments up to 24 months may be available for suitable applicants
n
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication,
this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Duties
n
n
Admission of patients.
n
Care of patients in the wards including a daily ward round.
n
Attend Specialist and Registrar ward rounds and record all decisions made in the medical history
n
n
Desirable Requirements
n

Current Driver's Licence
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and is eligible for employment in a position normally occupied by a Senior Resident Medical Officer.
n
n
