An established and well-regarded mining operation in the Hunter Valley is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their site-based team.
n
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys being out in the field, working closely with operations, and playing a key role in driving a proactive safety culture across site.
n
The Opportunity
n
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will be responsible for supporting leaders and frontline teams in the implementation and continuous improvement of site safety systems, procedures, and initiatives.
n
This role offers strong exposure across the operation, with a high level of involvement in audits, risk management, and incident investigation.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of site Health & Safety systems and processes
n
Facilitate and lead risk assessments across operational areas
n
Conduct incident investigations and support root cause analysis
n
Maintain and contribute to safety management systems and reporting frameworks
n
Undertake site audits, inspections, and compliance activities
n
Assist in the development of hazard management plans and safety initiatives
n
Analyse safety data and provide insights to improve performance
n
Support emergency response and crisis management planning (desirable)
n
Build strong working relationships across operations, contractors, and leadership teams
n
n




This role requires a robust on-site presence, working closely with crews to drive engagement and accountability across safety practices.

About You
n
We are looking for a proactive and practical safety professional who thrives in a high-risk environment.
n
You will bring:
n
n
Minimum 3+ years' experience in a Health & Safety role
n
Background in mining or other high-risk industries (construction, heavy industry)
n
n
Strong experience in:
n
n
Incident investigations
n
Safety systems and process development
n
Exposure to audits, inspections, and compliance frameworks
n
Strong data analysis and reporting capability
n
Solid to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite
n
A hands‐on, visible approach to safety leadership
n
n
