Key Duties and Responsibilities
n
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:
n
n
Developing, enhancing and documenting procedures to assist with ETL production support;
n
Analysing and resolving ETL production incidents;
n
Undertaking data profiling, system analysis and impact analysis;
n
Undertaking application development – design, development, testing and documentation of ETL processes;
n
Assisting in the physical table, database design and development;
n
Understanding and describing requirements and evaluating data for conformance to expectations;
n
Providing development effort estimates for changes to existing applications and new applications;
n
Providing Code Review and other Quality Assurance tasks for projects and for code delivered by the Section;
n




Implementing work standards including design, development and unit testing standards;
n
Developing, maintaining and unit testing system components;
n
Managing and organising competing priorities and conflicting interests;
n
Providing problem diagnosis and resolution;
n
Developing positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup through positive participation and communication;
n
Developing and maintaining strong effective working relationships with key management personnel and internal client base.
n
n
Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department's record‐keeping policy and practices.
n
The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:
n
n
Technical Specifications;
n
System Design Specifications;
n
Detailed business requirements documents;
n
Technical designs and matrices;
n
System Design Specifications;
n
Work flows, events and sequence diagrams;
n
UML (Universal Mark‐up Language) charts;
n
Workplace Context Definitions;
n
n
All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must:
n
n




be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; and
n
meet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time.

Qualifications
n
n
At least five (5) years previous experience working as an ETL Developer.
n
Proven experience in development and solution design in an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platform.
n
Strong understanding of ETL standards, security and governance in a large enterprise‐wide environment.
n
Demonstrated experience with:n
n
The analysis/design phase of a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
n
Development and administration across an EDW platform.
n
Developing complex SQL queries and stored procedures as required.
n
IBM Infosphere DataStage.
n
Scripting tools (Pearl, SQL, UNIX Shell).
n
Data science tools including Python.
n
Infrastructure as Code for cloud environments.
n
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
n
Impact analysis.
n
n
