The Role
n
We are looking for a Senior Observability Engineer to join a high-profile program delivering a modern cloud platform for a large-scale enterprise environment.
n
This role will play a critical part in shaping and accelerating the observability capability, moving the platform from reactive monitoring to a proactive, data-driven "single pane of glass" view across environments, services, and business-critical workflows.
n
You will work closely with platform, DevOps, and architecture teams to define and implement observability standards, dashboards, and telemetry strategies using Datadog.
n
Job Requirements
n
n
5+ years experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, ideally in complex, distributed environments.
n
Strong hands‐on experience with Datadog (dashboards, APM, logs, alerting).
n
Experience working with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and cloud‐native architectures (AWS).
n
Experience implementing observability frameworks including metrics, logging, and distributed tracing (e.g. OpenTelemetry).
n
Experience defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs, and reliability metrics.
n
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
n
Experience working with microservices architectures and distributed systems.
n
Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to instrument services and improve telemetry coverage.
n
Experience translating Non‐Functional Requirements (NFRs) into measurable signals and dashboards.
n
Strong problem‐solving skills with the ability to operate in fast‐paced, evolving environments.
n
You are proactive, can work autonomously, and take ownership of outcomes and delivery.
n
You have a strong focus on data‐driven decision making, continuous improvement,
and learning through iteration.

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement end‐to‐end observability solutions using Datadog (metrics, logs, traces).
n
Lead the design and implementation of environment readiness and platform health dashboards.
n
Define and implement SLIs/SLOs and observability standards.
n
Collaborate with engineering teams to instrument services and improve telemetry coverage.
n
Partner with platform and SRE teams to identify gaps in monitoring and reliability.
n
Translate Non‐Functional Requirements (NFRs) into measurable signals and dashboards.
n
Support connectivity, dependency, and SaaS monitoring across the platform ecosystem.
n
Contribute to performance analysis and profiling insights to improve system efficiency.
n
Provide technical leadership in observability architecture and best practices.
n
