We are urgently seeking a
Field Worker
to join the
Nursery
team with a local government council crew based in Ipswich.
1 x position: 9-day fortnight (6:00am–3:00pm)
Duties include maintaining parks and sports fields, including:
Propagating plants from seed, cuttings, division and other propagation methods.
Growing and nurturing plant stock for Council landscaping and beautification programs.
Preparing potting media and potting up seedlings and young plants.
Watering, fertilising and monitoring plant health.
Identifying and treating plant pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies.
Preparing plants for distribution to operational crews and projects.
Following safety procedures and participating in toolbox talks
We are seeking:
Previous experience in nursery production
An appropriate level of physical fitness for the work being performed.
Current C class drivers licence
Construction Industry White Card.
Solid reliability,



work ethic and commitment to safety with proven ability to follow directions and work as part of a team (supported by references).
Due to the nature of the work, please note that any offer of employment will be subject to a pre-employment medical, which includes drug and alcohol screening, to ensure you are fit to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role, together with a criminal history check.Mandatory PPE requirements apply and you must be willing to be face-fit tested for a P2 disposable respirator prior to starting.

Local Ipswich-based work
