A unique chance exists for a Law Graduate to join our Sydney Banking & Finance team.
This role would suit either a graduate or someone who has recently commenced their career and is looking to join private practice.
This graduate role forms part of a graduate cohort across our Melbourne and Sydney offices.
PLT (practical legal training) will be provided as part of the traineeship, with the ability to attend our specialised in-house graduate training.

Banking & Finance Practice
Our Banking & Finance lawyers understand how to manage the legal and commercial risks inherent in all financial transactions and offer smart, effective solutions to both borrowers and lenders.
We advise across the full spectrum of financing transactions, ranging from corporate and property finance to complex structured and project financing matters, solvent and insolvent restructurings and recapitalisations.
Our clients include a number of major domestic and international trading and investment banks and financiers.
We also advise substantial private family groups, corporates, property developers, private equity, hedge and special situation funds, fund managers, institutional investors,



project sponsors and underwriters in domestic and cross‐border transactions.
We understand that for many of our clients, financing is just one aspect of the deal, and so our teams are resourced to provide legal services across all disciplines required and to seamlessly integrate advice with our property, construction, commercial, insolvency and tax teams.
Our services include:
Property finance;
Corporate finance;
Capital raisings;
Project financing; and
Restructuring.
The role
We're looking for an outstanding graduate who is a self‐starter with highly developed analytical skills, an eye for detail and strong interpersonal skills.
You have an exceptional legal mind, as well as commercial and strategic nous.
You enjoy feeling challenged, and to be given opportunities to take on additional responsibility with autonomy.
You want to feel like you are an important member of, and making a meaningful and valued contribution to, a team that is consistently outperforming its competitors.
You are ambitious, enjoy success and are ready to perform at your own high standard.
You will have:
completed your law degree and achieved excellent academic results;
achieved strong results in taxation law with a genuine passion for this subject matter;
an ability to communicate, both in writing and orally, clearly and concisely;
strong interpersonal skills;
excellent attention to detail;
an ability to understand and identify the key issues in a legal matter;
good judgement and common sense;




the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
a passion for a career in commercial law.
