Shelford Campus
Opening in **** in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus will be Caulfield Grammar School's newest Junior School.
The campus will initially offer exceptional education for students in Prep andYears 4–6, before growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School.This represents a once‐in‐a‐career opportunity for a foundingteaching team to shape the culture and community from the groundup, delivering high‐impact learning in an outstandingpurpose‐designed environment.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support the wellbeing,resilience and success of students as part of the foundation teamat our new Shelford Campus.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal -Head of Campus, the Counsellor will apply their psychological andeducational expertise to support students' academic success,psychological health, and social and emotional wellbeing.
Workingclosely with students, families, teaching staff and the broaderCounselling Services team, you will provide counselling support,psycho-educational assessments and wellbeing interventions thatpromote positive student outcomes.
You will play a key role in supporting students experiencingeducational, social, behavioural and emotional challenges, whilebuilding strong partnerships with parents, staff and externalspecialists.
Through collaborative practice and evidence-basedsupport strategies, you will contribute to a nurturing andinclusive learning environment where every student is known,supported and empowered to thrive.
As a founding member of the Shelford Campus team, you will helpestablish a strong culture of wellbeing and pastoral care whilecontributing to broader school initiatives that reflect the valuesand aspirations of Caulfield Grammar School.
This is an ongoing part-time opportunity with the requirement offull-time term-time commitment in **** to support the first year ofShelford Campus.
Key Responsibilities
Provide counselling support to students and consult withparents regarding educational, social, behavioural andemotional concerns.
Conduct and manage psycho-educational assessments, preparereports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Prioritise and manage student referrals and access tocounselling services based on identified needs.
Liaise with external agencies, specialists and healthcareproviders to support student wellbeing outcomes.
Collaborate with the Counselling Services team and campusstaff to deliver student wellbeing initiatives and managestudent needs.
Provide advice and support to school leaders and staff onpastoral care and student welfare matters.
Deliver professional learning and wellbeing-focused supportfor staff where appropriate.
Provide crisis intervention support and coordinateresponses with key stakeholders and external service providersas required.
Maintain confidential records and documentation inaccordance with professional and ethical requirements.
Support data collection, reporting and administrationassociated with counselling service provision.
Contribute to the School's pastoral care and personaldevelopment programs.
Uphold the School's commitment to Child Safety, ensuringthe wellbeing, safety and dignity of all students at alltimes.
Skills and Qualifications
Employment Working with Children Check.
Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board ofAustralia (AHPRA).
Experience working with children and adolescents in aschool setting.
Highly developed counselling skills and experiencesupporting student wellbeing.
Demonstrated psycho-educational assessment experience.
Strong report writing, assessment and case managementcapability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with theability to build positive relationships with students, familiesand staff.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinaryteams and school communities.
Commitment to professional growth, continuous improvementand alignment with school priorities.
