Chandler Macleod is currently seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join the Automation team at Rio Tinto's Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL).
n
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning and delivery of critical control system upgrades across a large-scale industrial operation. Working alongside an experienced engineering team, you'll help develop upgrade strategies for obsolete Rockwell control systems while supporting the ongoing reliability of plant automation systems.
n

About the Role
n
This role is initially focused on developing engineering solutions for the replacement of obsolete Rockwell control system hardware across site.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Opportunity with Rio Tinto
n
Reviewing existing Rockwell control system hardware and identifying upgrade pathways.
n
Developing engineering scopes of work for automation replacement projects.
n
Preparing technical work packages to support future design and execution.
n
Providing technical support for Honeywell SCADA and Rockwell PLC systems.
n
Supporting day-to-day automation activities across site.
n
Assisting with PLC and SCADA modifications where required.
n
Working closely with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to deliver safe and reliable automation solutions.
n

About You
n
We're looking for a motivated Control Systems Engineer who enjoys working across both project engineering and operational support.
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n




Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Control Systems Engineering.
n
Experience working with Rockwell PLCs and associated hardware.
n
Experience supporting Honeywell SCADA systems.
n
Strong automation and industrial control systems experience.
n
Experience developing engineering documentation, scopes of work and technical work packages.
n
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
n
Experience within heavy industrial environments such as mining, smelters, refineries, manufacturing, power generation or processing plants.
n
