About the Role
n
We'relooking for an experiencedSMP Estimatorto join our growing team. Based in either Toowoomba, Chinchilla or Brisbane, you'llplay a pivotal role in preparingaccurate, commercially competitive estimates for a diverse range of
structural,mechanicaland
piping (SMP) projects, working closely with
operations,suppliersand
clients to help secure new work.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator, or a technically strong engineer who has transitioned into estimating, to join a collaborative team where yourexpertisewill directly influence project success.
n




As the SMP Estimator,you'llmanage the estimating process from enquiry through totendersubmission and customer follow-up. Working in a fast-paced setting,you'
lldevelopaccuratecost
estimates, build solid supplier relationships,
negotiatepricingand
collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver commercially competitive tenders estimate.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Prepareaccurateand commercially competitive estimates and tender submissions for SMP projects.
n
Review technical drawings and specifications, completing detailed material take-offs and cost estimates.
n
Source pricing, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, and secure competitive lead times.
n
Prepare professional quotation documentation and manage tender submissions from start to finish.
n
Liaise with customers following quotation submission to clarify requirements and support successful tender outcomes.
n
Work collaboratively with operations and project teams to ensure estimates align with delivery capability and
businessobjectives.
n

What You'll Bring:
n
n
Demonstrated experience estimating within Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) or heavy fabrication environments.
n
Strong knowledge of fabrication
processes,materialsand
relevant Australian standards.
n




Ability to independently prepare complete
estimates,quotationsand
tender documentation.
n
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
n
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with
suppliers,subcontractorsand
clients.
n
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
n
