Job Description
The Opportunity
n
We're expanding our Geo-Environmental Engineering team and are looking for a Senior Geo-technical Design Engineer to join our Brisbane office. Alternatively, the role may be based in our Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast office.
n
This hybrid role offers flexibility and the chance to lead a talented technical team, while building strong client relationships across Australia. You'll play a key role in shaping and delivering projects in civil infrastructure, waste, water, and mining sectors.

What You'll Do In More Details
n
n
Lead and deliver projects focused on waste management including landfill design, engineered containment systems, geosynthetic applications, and resource recovery solutions.
n
Design water infrastructure including dam engineering, earth structures and repair works, and wastewater management ponds.
n
Develop mining solutions involving tailings management facilities and complex liner systems.
n
Provide ground engineering expertise, including slope stabilization and rehabilitation.
n
Develop cutting‐edge solutions for geo‐environmental challenges, integrating waste management into broader infrastructure projects.
n
Prepare and review technical documentation for waste‐related projects across planning, design, and execution phases.
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the waste and geo‐environmental sectors, supporting both project delivery and business development initiatives.
n
Ensure technical excellence in waste and geo‐environmental engineering, overseeing quality and risk management.
n
Undertake project management to deliver desired outcomes for key clients with a focus on repeat business.
n
Mentor and guide junior engineers,
fostering a collaborative team setting and sharing expertise in waste management and geo‐environmental engineering.
n
Support operational management by contributing to strategies that drive business growth in waste and environmental services.
n

About You
n
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience.
n
Deep technical expertise in waste management, including the design of landfills, leachate collection and treatment systems, geosynthetics, capping systems, and resource recovery infrastructure.
n
Strong detailed design capabilities are essential.
n
Required Experience and Skills
n
n
Extensive experience delivering high‐quality, detailed design documentation.
n
Proficiency in using design software and tools to produce accurate, constructible, and compliant engineering designs.
n
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
n
Experience leading and contributing to multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring integration of design elements across disciplines.
n
A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and technical excellence.
n
Proven or developing mentoring skills for junior to senior engineers, with sound decision‐making and project delivery skills.
n
Ability to assess and design for subsurface environmental risks, embankments, complex earthworks, and surface water management systems.
