The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to step into a Lead role, with a strong focus on data centres and mission‐critical facilities.
n
You'll be part of a high-performing, collaborative team, working across major projects locally and nationally. You will lead mechanical design from concept through to delivery, ensuring solutions are efficient, resilient, and future-ready.

What You'll Do
n
n
Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services (HVAC) for data centres and other complex facilities
n
Take ownership of technical quality, coordination, and documentation across projects
n
Develop solutions that support high availability, redundancy, and energy efficiency in mission‐critical environments
n
Work directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive successful outcomes
n
Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
n
Contribute to project planning, risk management, and commercial outcomes
n
Support the growth of WSP's data centre capability in WA and nationally
n
n
About You
n
n
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
n
8+ years' experience in building services consulting
n




Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems and mechanical services design
n
Experience delivering complex or large-scale projects (data centre or mission‐critical experience highly regarded)
n
Confident leading design packages and engaging with stakeholders
n
Chartered / CPEng (or working towards) highly regarded
n
Strong communication skills with a cooperative and proactive approach
n
