Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant to join a highly regarded property development company based in Newcastle – residential & commercial projects.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll lead the financial accounting function, manage a small team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, compliance, budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
n
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys improving processes, developing people and partnering with stakeholders across the business.

About the Role
n
As Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for:
n
n
Leading the month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting process
n
Managing the Financial Accountant team and supporting their development
n
Preparing management reports, statutory financial statements and board reporting
n
Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
n
Ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting obligations
n
Managing BAS, Payroll Tax, ATO and other regulatory reporting requirements
n
Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations,



fixed assets and general ledger integrity
n
Managing relationships with external auditors and tax advisers
n
Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting and internal processes
n
Partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver timely financial insights and support decision-making.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification – currently a must have
n
Previous experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant role
n
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
n
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement
n
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment.
