Human Resources Manager

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team. In this newly created position, you will be the sole HR resource for a dynamic SME. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and implement HR strategies from the ground up, directly impacting the company's growth and success.

The Role:
n
You will work closely with leadership to develop and maintain a robust HR infrastructure that supports the business objectives and fosters a positive workplace culture.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Drive the implementation of Elmo software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
n
Create and manage employee databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of personnel records
n
Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices
n
Create and implement employee engagement programs to boost morale and retention
n
Design and roll out training and development initiatives to support employee growth and company objectives
n
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from job posting to onboarding
n
Develop innovative strategies to attract top talent in a competitive market
n
Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and create job descriptions
n
Ensure all employment contracts (existing and future) and conditions comply with relevant legislative requirements
n
Prepare and submit regular HR reports to management, including workforce analytics and key performance indicators
n
Stay abreast of changes in employment law and update company policies accordingly
n
Design and implement a robust performance review system
n
Facilitate performance improvement plans and disciplinary processes as needed
n
Conduct annual remuneration reviews, ensuring competitive and fair compensation packages
n
Develop and manage employee benefits programs
n
Analyse market trends to ensure our compensation strategy remains competitive
n
Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries and concerns
n
Mediate workplace conflicts and promote a positive work environment
n
Foster open communication channels between management and staff
n
n
Qualifications and Experience:
n
n
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
n
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior HR role, within a private, SME workplace
n
Relevant industry such as construction or building products would be an advantage
n
Proven track record in developing and implementing HR strategies and systems
n
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations
n
Experience with HRIS and proficiency in HR analytics
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
AHRI certification preferred
n
