With a strong national presence of over 800 offices and a agile, fast-paced commercial environment, this company is now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal functions spanning franchising, commercial contracts, governance and risk.

What You'll Be Doing
n
Working closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders across the business, as the Senior Legal Counsel for Australia, you'll be responsible for:
n
n
Franchise Compliance - overseeing all franchise legal documentation including franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers
n
Commercial Contracting - preparing, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of contracts such as supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, and property leases
n
Governance & Risk - advising on risk management, privacy matters, and legislative developments; participating in internal committees as needed
n
Board Reporting - preparing accurate and concise legal updates for board and leadership consideration
n




External Counsel Engagement - managing instructions and relationships with external advisors
n
Leadership - providing guidance to a capable Legal & Events Administrator
n

What We're Looking For
n
This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded, confident communicator with:
n
n
5+ years' post-admission experience, ideally in a franchising-heavy environment
n
Proven experience with franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing franchisee relationships
n
Strong commercial contracting experience, with the ability to balance legal risk against business needs
n
The confidence to work independently and interface with executives and cross-functional teams
n
A collaborative and practical approach, and the ability to work at pace in a large, evolving business
n
