Job Description
Location: Fully remote in Australia or can be hybrid
n
We're launching a brand-new greenfield product in the Genome Sequencing space and are forming a new delivery squad of around six developers to build it from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape a deeply technical product from day one, with real-world scientific and healthcare impact.
n
This role is for a Technical Product Manager who thrives in complexity, enjoys fast-paced delivery, and is comfortable operating in demanding environments.
n
The Opportunity
n
You will lead product delivery for a new Genome Sequencing application, working closely with a newly formed engineering squad. This is not a maintenance or optimisation role - you'll be defining foundations, setting technical direction, and turning complex requirements into working software. You must have been a developer before so you understand the engineers and coding.
n
Reporting directly to the Head of Product, you'll operate with high autonomy and accountability. The environment is intense, pragmatic, and delivery-focused. We move fast, debate hard, and expect clarity in decision-making.
n
What You'll Own
n
n
End-to-end product ownership of a greenfield Genome Sequencing application
n
Partner with a new squad of approximately six developers to define, validate, and deliver product increments
n
Translate highly technical and scientific requirements into clear product direction and execution plans
n
Drive technical documentation, standards alignment, and implementation readiness
n
Work across data-heavy, complex domains where accuracy and interoperability are critical
n
Facilitate strong technical discussions and resolve competing viewpoints constructively
n
Maintain momentum in a fast-paced delivery cycle with 3-week sprints
n
Take ownership of delivery outcomes - from discovery through to implementation
n
n
This is a hands-on role. You'll be close to the work, comfortable reviewing technical decisions, and willing to step in to solve problems directly when needed.
n
Who You Are
n
n
A Technical Product Manager with a strong engineering and development background
n
Experienced working on greenfield products or early-stage platforms
n
Comfortable operating in highly technical domains such as genomics, healthcare, data platforms, or regulated environments
n
Confident working with developers on complex systems, data pipelines, and integrations
n
Pragmatic, resilient, and calm under pressure
n
Humble, collaborative, and motivated by building something meaningful from scratch
n
n
Bonus points if you've worked with scientific data, bioinformatics, or large-scale data processing systems. You do not need to have worked in that before, the other PM's came from Fintech and E-com.
n
Why Join
n
n
Build a product from zero in a high-impact Genome Sequencing domain that has never been done before
n
Lead a current squad and shape how product is delivered from day one
n
Work directly with an exceptional Head of Product in a highly driven environment
n
Join a company with significant investment and long-term growth ambitions
n
Take on a genuinely critical role with real ownership and visibility
n
n
The value comes from responsibility, impact, and being central to a product that will matter over the next several years.
