What the Role Involves
n
This is a diverse and challenging role focused on the design, build, assembly, and configuration of environmental monitoring systems, supplied to ALS offices across Australia and directly to external clients — all with the support of a dedicated mentor.
n
Day‐to‐day responsibilities may include:
n
n
Design, manufacture, and testing of automated monitoring systems.
n
Wiring, soldering, and assembly of terminals and 12 V control panels.
n
Producing and maintaining technical documentation.
n
Providing technical support to field staff, project teams, and clients.
n
General technical and administrative duties.
n
Project management and procurement.
n
Overseas travel for field installation of monitoring stations (for the right candidate).
n

What We're Looking For
n
We're open to candidates at a trainee to intermediate experience level. You needn't tick every box — what matters most is your attitude, aptitude, and willingness to grow.
n
Essential
n
n
Minimum Year 12 secondary education, with strengths in Science,
English, and/or Mathematics.
n
Competent computer skills with a practical and technical mindset.
n
Strong work ethic, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
n
Ability to use hand and power tools to fabricate and fit out instrument panels.
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
Experience working within the environmental or water sector.
n
Relevant diploma such as Certificate III in Electronics and Communication or Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control.
n
Interest in telemetry communications — satellite, 4G, or IoT technologies.
n
Interest or experience in datalogger coding/programming (e.g., CRBasic).
n
Experience using AutoCAD.
n
