An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a well established and highly regarded property developer based in Newcastle.
n
Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, tax, audit, business services, statutory compliance and continuous process improvement across a diverse property portfolio.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid level accountant looking to broaden their experience within a dynamic, fast-paced commercial environment.
n
The Opportunity
n
n
Preparing month-end and year-end financial reporting, including journals, accruals and adjustments
n
Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
n
Managing fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
n
Ensuring accurate recognition of revenue and expenses in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
n
Preparing BAS, FBT and other statutory returns
n
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
n
Preparing General Purpose Financial Statements and supporting year-end audit requirements
n
Completing external compliance reporting, including ATO, ABS, NSW Revenue and Workers Compensation declarations
n
Assisting with group consolidation reporting
n
Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions when required
n
Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
n
Acting as a key liaison with external accountants and tax advisers
n
n
About You
n
n
The role would ideally suit a candidate with a Public Practice background as you will be heavily involved in Tax, Data, Auditing
n
CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards)
n
3 - 4+ years' Financial accounting experience within commercial, property or public practice environments
n
Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting experience
n
Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax compliance
n
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
n
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
n
A proactive approach with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
