Job Description of Release manager in Brisbane or Melbourne or Sydney:

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop, maintain and manage overall release management criteria and plan.
n
Package up change as part of regular releases to ensure production stability and discipline in migrations.
n
Assess and approve the quality of migration readiness in conjunction with the project lifecycle process, data quality and testing signoff's.
n
Manage and co‐ordinate vendors involved in the release where appropriate.
n
Ensure that operations staff handovers have been successfully completed prior to release.
n
Communicate across the team and with the business release management schedule.
n
Work with change manager to communicate proposed change to business process, training schedules, overall benefits of project deployment and recognition of success.
n
Promote the segregation in duty of migration activities.
n
Establish, configure and maintain non‐production environments.
n
Liaise with vendor for issue resolution and upgrade planning.
n
Manage source code, including version control.
n
Support releases and manage migrations between environments.
n
Develop release batch schedules.
n
Develop and manage medium to large implementation plans.
n
Build and maintain broad Release Management calendar and integrate release management processes across portfolio.




n
Identify, prepare 'crunch', analyse and present data utilising available technologies.
n
Build constructive working relationships and engagement with Team Members, Stakeholders, Customers, Partners, Vendors and all levels of Management.
n

Key Job Requirement
n
Qualifications (indicate whether mandatory or desired)
n
Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology and/or Business or equivalent industry experience Desired
n
Experience (minimum type and level of experience required to perform the role)
n
At least 5 years appropriate industry experience.
n
Previous experience in a large organization in a Release Management role.
n
Experience in managing conflicting needs of project and testing team and meeting these with appropriate source code management and development setting set up.
n
Experience in leading geographically distributed teams.
n

Thorough and proven track record improving release management maturity.
n
Experience in release management practices.
n
Strong Business Intelligence technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
n
Strong understanding of the overall business intelligence platform and development process.
