Job Description

Position Overview
n
The Assistant Director Governance & Compliance will provide support, information and advice to the Director Risk, Governance and Compliance on activities and functions of the Court.
n
The Assistant Director Governance & Compliance is responsible for:
n
n
Assisting with the Courts business planning process
n
Assisting with the review, development and implementation of frameworks, policies, processes and procedures, that are consistent with the Courts business planning requirements
n
Assisting with the Coordination, monitoring and reporting on governance compliance
n
Assisting with the review, development and implementation of frameworks, policies, processes and procedures, that are consistent with the Courts governance requirements
n
n
Major Activities
n
Under limited supervision, the position is required to:
n
n
Preparation of correspondence, submissions, briefing materials and responses for matters relating to business planning, governance and compliance.
n
Coordinating of the Courts public reporting requirements relating to business planning, governance and compliance
n
Coordination of responses to ad hoc requests from Government and other external stakeholders relating to business planning, governance and compliance
n
Have a high standard of written communication skills
n
Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with our stakeholders
n
Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable
n
Be committed to ongoing self‐improvement and professional development.

Previous experience in a Court environment will be highly regarded.

Formal Qualifications
n
Experience in risk management, governance, compliance and/or public reporting requirements for agencies under the PGPA Act is desirable.
n
Tertiary qualification graduate or postgraduate in a relevant discipline and/or a qualified certification is desirable.
n
Selection Criteria
n
n
Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance and/or public reporting requirements for agencies under the PGPA Act or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
n
Strong understanding of complexity within Commonwealth Government organisations and area‐specific policies, processes to monitor and guide on governance and compliance to influence quality outcomes.
n
Demonstrated leadership and management skills including the ability to determine workflow priorities, assume responsibility for the delivery of outcomes and the development, coaching and guidance of staff.
n
Highly effective communication, interpersonal, representational and negotiation skills and the demonstrated ability to prepare high quality written reports, briefs and correspondence.
n
Demonstrated experience working cooperatively in a team‐based environment.
n
