Job Description
A newly restructured, greenfields role shaping and implementing Walcha's tourism strategy. Reporting to the Director Community Services, you will build a strategic approach to grow the visitor economy and position Walcha as a destination in its own right.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Develop, implement and monitor a destination strategy to grow the visitor economy
n
Act as Council's specialist point of contact on tourism matters internally and externally
n
Foster strong relationships with tourism operators and the Walcha Business Group
n
Grow overnight visitation through famils, conferencing, product development and marketing
n
Manage Council's digital tourism assets and support the Visitor Information Centre
n
n
Who this role suits

Background in tourism with a track record of growing visitation or outcomes
n
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills across community and industry
n
Ability to see the bigger strategic picture while remaining comfortable in the detail
n
Confidence engaging with local government, business groups and community stakeholders
n
A tourism-related qualification is desirable but not essential
n

Salary up to $120,000 + super + relocation assistance up to $5,000

Permanent full time role (35-hour week with an RDO every 3 weeks)
