Data Engineer

Employment: Contract, 6 Months (Extendable)
n Experience: 5+ years
n Location: Sydney, Australia - Hybrid
n Eligibility: Candidates must have the right to work in Australia (Citizen, PR, Valid Visa holders).

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows across multiple data sources and platforms.
n
Work extensively with AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift), Snowflake, and Teradata for data integration and transformation.
n
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and high performance.
n
Implement and maintain data models, schema designs, and performance tuning for large-scale data environments.
n
Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and high-quality data solutions.
n
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues to ensure smooth operation and timely delivery.
n
Contribute to best practices in data governance, security,



and quality management.
n

Required Skills & Experience
n
n
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role in large-scale data environments.
n
Solid hands‐on expertise in AWS Cloud Services – S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift.
n
Proven experience with Snowflake, Teradata, and Redshift platforms.
n
Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions).
n
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and performance optimization.
n
Familiarity with Python or Scala for scripting and automation is a strong advantage.
n
Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
n
Ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced, collaborative environment.
