Quarry Manager / Site Senior Executive (SSE)

Either an experienced Quarry Manager or a Quarry Supervisor ready to take the next step, we can help you obtain the SSE ticket.
n
Our client is seeking someone with substantial experience within Quarry leadership. Their quarry is in North Brisbane, with a remediation plan to hand the quarry over for development within the next 3 – 4 years. Thereafter, there would be many project options to move onto.
n
There is lots of work to be done: Drill, Blast, Excavation, Crushing, Screening, Surface Extraction and compaction ready for handover.
n
The role will include:
n
n
Ensuring compliance requirements are met.
n
Build the team and ensure the Safety and Environmental obligations are achieved
n
Build the development of the team, including developing the 2iC/ Supervisor. Promote and implement a Continuous Improvement culture across all activities and teams.
n
Monitor the risk levels of all quarry activities and ensure safeguards and procedures are in place to successfully deliver without damages, safety or environmental impacts.
n
Monitor the procedures and equipment to ensure they are effective and compliant with regulations.
n
Conduct inspections and monitoring cut faces, benches and quarry works.
n
Maintain and focus on productivity to achieve the targets set by the client and the business.
n




Keep ahead of all regulatory changes and amendments, including but not limited to: Safety, Environmental and quarry legislations.
n
Liaising with the end client (landowner) and DNRME.
n

The most suitable candidate for this role will have experience of the following:
n
n
Leading teams in heavy manufacturing, preferred Quarries and or Surface Mining
n
Understand the regulatory requirements of an SSE in Queensland.
n
Either a current SSE Notice for a surface mine, or quarry employing more than 20 people (would be ideal) or a Diploma of Surface Operations Management or Current Mining Supervisor S123 or G189
n
Demonstrated experience within the Quarry industry to qualify for the company to put you through the SSE ticket.
n
Experience with drilling and blast
n
Experience with GPS /Surveying
n
Experience with Crushing, Screening
n
Experienced driving Workplace Health and Safety, MQSHA and Site SMPs
n
Must have the right to work in Australia
n
n
