The role
n
We are seeking an experienced Water Infrastructure professional to lead and grow our NSW Water Infrastructure business.
n
As Manager – Water Infrastructure, Sydney you will be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening client relationships, leading a high-performing team, and overseeing the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of water infrastructure projects.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an established leader or senior water professional looking to take the next step into a broader management and business leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the NSW/ACT Water Infrastructure business, focusing on sustainable growth and market development.
n
Identify, secure and deliver water infrastructure projects across the region.
n
Build and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business and new opportunities.
n
Manage team performance, utilisation, resourcing and professional development.
n




Oversee the commercial performance of the business, including forecasting, budgeting and profitability.
n
Provide project leadership, strategic oversight and technical review on key projects.
n
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture aligned with SMEC's values.
n

About You
n
You will be a commercially minded and client-focused leader with a strong track record in the water sector and experience delivering projects within a consulting environment.
n
You Will Bring
n
n
Degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
n
10+ years' experience within the water infrastructure sector.
n
Experience leading technical teams and managing project delivery.
n
Strong business development and client relationship management skills with established business networks
n
Demonstrated ability to identify and convert opportunities into profitable work.
n
Experience preparing successful proposals, scopes and budgets.
n
Excellent commercial, stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
