Senior DevOps Engineer

The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead and expand the Delivery Team's cloud infrastructure capability, driving agile delivery practices and system reliability across the organisation. This role is a key technical lead for the rollout of a new Point-of-Sale (POS) system across new store locations, with ownership of Azure DevOps support for related project activities.

Responsibilities
n
CI/CD Pipeline Leadership - Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, setting standards and mentoring junior engineers
n
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Design and own infrastructure automation strategy using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
n
Monitoring & Observability - Define and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategy (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
n
Cloud & Server Management - Own cloud setting architecture and management (AWS, Azure, GCP) across cloud and on-prem
n
Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with developers, QA, IT, and business stakeholders to drive delivery outcomes and operational excellence
n
Security & Compliance - Lead DevSecOps practices,



embedding security into infrastructure and deployment pipelines
n
Automation & Scripting - Develop robust automation frameworks (Bash, Python) to drive efficiency at scale
n
Performance & Reliability - Proactively identify systemic bottlenecks and lead resolution of complex performance issues
n
Qualifications & Experience
n
6+ years' experience in DevOps/Systems Administration, with demonstrated leadership on complex infrastructure projects
n
Knowledge & Key Skills
n
OS & Scripting: Linux, Bash, Python (advanced)
n
CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI (deep implementation and architecture experience)
n
IaC: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation (advanced/expert)
n
Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (production-scale experience)
n
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (architecture-level expertise)
n
Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
n
Networking & Security: Strong networking fundamentals, DevSecOps leadership
n
Version Control: Git
n
Soft Skills: Stakeholder management, mentoring, strategic problem-solving, communication
