Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Administer and maintain Oracle databases hosted on AWS (RDS and/or EC2).
n
Perform regular database operations, including shutdowns, restarts, patching, log cleanup, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
n
Implement SSL/TLS encryption to ensure secure application-to-database communication.
n
Configure and manage RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
n
Support data migration activities in non-production and production environments, including one-time data loads and Oracle GoldenGate (OGG)-based replication.
n
Perform Oracle database performance tuning and optimization across environments.
n
Administer and operate Data Guard or GoldenGate for replication between primary and standby databases.
n
n
Perform Oracle database performance tuning and optimisation across environments.
n
Administer and operate Data Guard or GoldenGate for replication between primary and standby databases.
n
Skills
n
n
Robust hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration (12c, 19c or higher).
n
Experience managing Oracle databases on AWS, including both RDS and EC2.
n
Proficiency with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication.
n
Operational experience with RMAN for backup, recovery, and configuration.
n
Proven skills in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
n
Experience with Data Guard and GoldenGate for database replication.



Expertise in configuring and managing active-passive setups with proper role definitions.
n
Ability to configure Fast-Start Failover (FSFO) and monitor Data Guard status.
n
Proficient with proactive monitoring using OEM or custom scripts.
n
Experience in performing failover procedures and validating application connectivity post-failover.
n
Experience implementing SSL/TLS for secure database connections.
n
Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks.
n
Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security within cloud environments.
n
Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
n
n
Documentation & Governance:
n
n
Ability to review and contribute to LLDs, runbooks, and solution documentation.
n
Experience auditing and validating third-party or vendor deliverables.
n
Familiarity with OATS and DOATs processes in large enterprise environments.
n
n
