Job Description
My client is a global leading crypto exchange.
n
About The Role
n
The Head of Sales owns the commercial engine of our Australia entity. This is a senior, hands‐on leadership position responsible for driving user acquisition, trading volume, AUM, and revenue across both retail and high‐net‐
worth/institutional
segments.
n
You will build and lead the sales function — currently a small team — and work directly with the Managing Director, Head of Operations, marketing, product, and compliance to translate the company's product suite into measurable commercial outcomes in the Australian market.
n
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance. It's for an operator who builds pipelines, closes deals, mentors a team, and sets the tone for how a regulated crypto business sells in Australia.
n
What You'll Own
n
n
Sales strategy. provide input on and execute the go‐to‐market plan across retail, HNW, and institutional segments. Set targets, forecast accurately, and own the number.
n
Team leadership. Build, coach, and scale the sales team. Set KPIs, manage performance, and develop talent into a high‐output unit.
n
HNW and institutional pipeline. Personally develop and close relationships with high‐net‐worth individuals, family offices, prop traders, market makers, and institutional desks.
n
Partner and broker relationships. Manage existing partner channels and identify new commercial opportunities, including introducing broker arrangements and B2B distribution.
n
Cross‐functional execution. Work alongside marketing on acquisition campaigns (recent example: the Australia entity Money Pool trading competition), with product on user feedback loops, and with compliance on segment‐appropriate onboarding.
n
Market presence. Represent our Australia entity at industry events, regulator engagements, and partner forums. Be a credible commercial voice in the Australian digital asset sector.
n
Reporting and accountability.
Provide weekly commercial reporting to the MD and contribute to board‐level commercial reviews.
n
n
What You Bring
n
Required
n
n
8+ years in sales leadership within crypto, fintech, FX/CFDs, brokerage, or regulated financial services.
n
Demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding commercial targets at scale.
n
Experience building and managing high‐performing sales teams from the ground up.
n
Deep understanding of the Australian financial services landscape and the regulatory expectations that apply to digital asset and FS businesses.
n
Strong existing network across the Australian HNW, family office, prop trading, or institutional crypto community.
n
Commercial discipline: forecasting, pipeline management, and a structured approach to sales operations.
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
Direct crypto exchange or digital asset experience.
n
Existing book of HNW/institutional clients.
n
Experience operating within an AFSL or AUSTRAC‐registered entity.
n
Familiarity with derivatives, perpetuals, and prime brokerage structures.
n
n
Who You Are
n
n
A closer first, manager second — you still love being in the deal.
n
Direct, no‐fluff communicator who can hold their own with sophisticated HNW and institutional counterparties.
n
Operationally accurate. You run a clean pipeline and a clean team.
n
Comfortable working at pace in a small, ambitious, founder‐led environment.
n
Aligned with a premium, qualified brand standard — you understand that how we show up matters as much as what we sell.
n
n
What We Offer
n
n
Competitive base salary, performance‐based commission structure, and long‐term incentive participation.
n
A senior leadership seat in a licensed Australian crypto business with global backing.
n
Direct working relationship with the MD and executive team — no layers, no politics.
n
Sydney CBD office, in‐person team culture, and exposure to the full breadth of a regulated exchange operation.
