Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute General Manager – Mental Health & Wellbeing to provide senior leadership across a diverse portfolio of government-funded services. This role extends across metropolitan and regional NSW and the ACT, requiring a leader comfortable operating at scale, across complexity, and within evolving funding environments.

The Opportunity
n
As General Manager, you will play a central leadership role within our Mental Health & Wellbeing Directorate, turning strategic vision into operational excellence and delivering measurable, meaningful impact.
n
As General Manager, you will:
n
Lead high-quality, evidence-based mental health and psychosocial services across multiple regions
n
Translate strategy into measurable impact across service delivery, people, and performance
n
Drive strategic growth, innovation,
and new funding opportunities
n
Ensure strong financial performance, sustainability, and service viability
n
Build and lead a high-performing, inclusive culture grounded in safety and accountability
n
Strengthen executive relationships with key stakeholders and funding bodies
n
Position Uniting as a sector leader in community mental health
n
About You
n
You are an accomplished leader who combines strategic vision with operational discipline.
n
You will bring:
n
Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Finance and/or Mental Health or Community Services
n
Extensive experience leading large, geographically dispersed multidisciplinary teams
n
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success managing government-funded programs
n
Proven tender and contract management expertise
n
Solid understanding of evidence-based mental health models, health system architecture and
funding/commissioning
mechanisms.
n
Experience leading organisational change in complex service systems
n
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, governance and compliance frameworks
n
Most importantly, you are purpose driven. You balance financial stewardship with compassion, innovation with accountability,
and strategy with action.
