Job Description
Our client is looking for a CFO to lead a large vertically integrated food business. This is a critical appointment, responsible for the development and set up of the financial function which incorporates all aspects of the company's reporting, internal auditing, financial management, M&A; and strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with the vision and expertise to guide the company into its next phase of growth.
n Key Responsibilities:
n Financial Management and Reporting

Oversee financial management and reporting
n
Answer any enquiries from the Investment Fund owners
n
Develop and review annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment
n
Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, operational, and liquidity risks. Develop and implement strategies to safeguard company assets and investments
n
Provide monthly variance analysis to budgets and forecasts
n
Present accurate financial results and insights to the CEO, the board, and senior stakeholders in a timely manner
n
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and return on investment (ROI) assessments. Provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
n
Liaise with external accountants and lawyers on all tax matters to ensure compliance with financial, tax and other obligations
n
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investments to optimize returns while maintaining financial stability. Develop and implement cash management policies and procedures
n
Conduct research and analysis for potential investment opportunities
n
Oversee Treasury operations, including trading and capital management strategies, to maintain robust financial health and liquidity
n
Support M&A; negotiations,

Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems while reducing costs

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive effectiveness

Assess business cases for CAPEX and analyse ROI

Provide strategic direction to ensure efficient business operation on financial aspects
n
Set financial goals and priorities, establishing performance measures for progress tracking
n
Identify opportunities for expansion and diversification in existing and new markets
n
Your background:n
n
10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with excellent financial management expertise, including prior CFO experience ideally within a food or agricultural business.
n
Finance degree with further qualification, either a CPA or CA
n
Experience working with and leading a business with multiple locations and operations.
n
Strong leadership skills with advanced interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations, leading through influence.
n
A highly commercial focus and approach, with prior experience in M&A; execution and integration.
n
Strong treasury management experience, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and capital allocation.
n
Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
n
Strong stakeholder management skillset with an ability to work across a growing organisation to develop and execute strategy.
n
Able to develop and implement best practice processes and systems, providing rigor across the organisation.
