Data Engineer - NV1 Clearance Required

Location: Melbourne or Canberra
n Work Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
n Contract: Initial contract until 30 June ****, with strong extension potential
n Security Clearance: NV1 Clearance is mandatory
n
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-profile technology program delivering modern data solutions in a collaborative Agile environment.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions
n
Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and storage
n
Build batch and near real-time data processing solutions
n
Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable data platforms
n
Ensure data quality, performance, security, and governance across data environments
n
Support cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses
n
Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and optimise performance
n
Contribute to automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
n
n
About You
n
n
5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused engineering role
n




Robust experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration workflows
n
Advanced SQL skills with experience across relational and NoSQL databases
n
Hands‐on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, or equivalent
n
Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets
n
Good understanding of data modelling and performance optimisation
n
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering
n
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
n
