We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance function and provide strategic financial leadership across our group structure.
n
This is a chance to own end-to-end financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, while playing a key role in business strategy, governance, and growth. This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional with strong technical skills and business acumen who wants to build and scale a finance function from the ground up, accelerating their career alongside our business growth.

What you'll do:
n
n
Capital Management: Assist with fundraising, including financial modelling and due diligence, and maintain records of historical raises and shareholder activity.
n
Financial Planning & Analysis: Drive annual planning cycles, budgeting, and scenario modelling. Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support board decisions and investor conversations.
n
Governance & Reporting: Prepare board packs, present financial updates, act as board secretary, and handle statutory filings across jurisdictions. Administer the ESOP, including the option register and equity grants.
n
Commercial Operations: Partner with sales and delivery teams to structure proposals, price deals, and ensure margin discipline. Review contracts for financial and risk implications.
n
Compliance & Risk: Oversee tax compliance, manage insurance coverage and risk registers, and coordinate with external advisors on regulatory matters.
n
Finance Operations: Manage bookkeeping,



AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and monthly close processes. Prepare consolidated management accounts and oversee payroll across NZ, AU, and US jurisdictions.

Finance Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and grow the finance function as the business scales, transitioning from hands-on execution to strategic leadership over time.

What we're looking for:
n
n
Professional accounting qualification (CA ANZ, CPA Australia, or equivalent).
n
5+ years of progressive finance experience, with exposure to high-growth or venture-backed companies.
n
Strong financial modelling and FP&A; skills.
n
Experience supporting fundraising activities and managing equity (ESOP administration).
n
Strong technical skills in financial systems, payroll platforms, and advanced Excel/financial modelling tools.
n
An "AI-native" approach and enthusiasm for leveraging AI to enhance financial processes and reporting.
n
A self-starter mentality with the ability to work autonomously while building and documenting robust financial processes.
n
