Recovery RTW Specialist $137,****** per annum + 12% superannuation Full time, ongoing opportunity Wadawurrung / Geelong based (hybrid working model, minimum 3 days per week in the office) About the role The Claims and Recovery Support Division (CaRS) is focused on supporting the recovery and return to work of injured workers.
This is achieved through adopting a contemporary approach to claims management and person-centred planning, to support injured workers in maximising their social and economic participation.
CaRS is transforming how support and services are delivered to injured workers to improve the outcomes they achieve.
As part of this, we are helping shape and execute on key strategic priorities for RTW Victoria through pilots, innovation and key strategic programs of work.
The Recovery and RTW Specialist is a member of the Claims Support team within the CaRS Division.
In this role, you will use specialist skills and expertise in the field of personal injury management to provide guidance, support and development to the CaRS Division to promote appropriate recovery and return to work outcomes for the injured workers supported by our division.
Key accountabilities Proactively coach, mentor and share expertise, in particular with Recovery and Support Advisors, Coordinators and Officers, to build and develop recovery and return to work knowledge within the CaRS Division Collaborate with Recovery Support Advisors, Coordinators and Officers and treating health professionals to ensure an injured worker is provided with evidence-based, best-practice treatment and rehabilitation advice as it relates to their workplace injury or illness Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise to identify opportunities to develop and embed strategies that support theinjured worker experience and improve outcomes for injured workers.




Provide leadership and recovery and return to work subject matter expertise in the review of treatment and support requests arising from Workers compensation claims Use your expertise to identify opportunities to develop, modify and review recovery and return to work claims processes, procedures, standards and guidelines Please click here to view the Position Description for additional information.
About you You are a team player with demonstrated experience in the personal injury, disability or health sector, combined with experience in claims management and facilitating improved outcomes for clients.
You have a strong understanding of how to build rapport and develop recovery plans with injured workers and their support networks, and highly developed skills in coaching, influencing and relationship building.
You will play a critical role in providing advice and building the capability of our Recovery and Support Advisors and Coordinators.
Ideally, you will also have the following: Experience supporting people who have complex needs Highly developed knowledge and understanding of injury management and rehabilitation in a compensable setting A high level of professional resilience A growth mindset, open to coaching and developmental feedback Capability to develop and support continuous improvement initiatives Effective and influential communication skills Qualifications A degree or tertiary qualification in an allied health field (e.g. Occupational Therapy / Psychology / Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Counselling) is highly desirable and/or significant equivalent experience.
