Your new company This organisation plays an important role within Victoria's building and insurance sector and is currently undertaking a significant transition within its insurance operations function. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced people leader to join the business and provide leadership, stability and operational oversight during this period of change.

Your current role
n
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for leading an established team of approximately 12 employees, including two informal team leaders, while ensuring day-to-day operations continue to run smoothly throughout a major insurance product transition. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys coaching staff, managing workflow and driving outcomes in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

Leading, developing and supporting a team of insurance professionals.
n
Managing daily workflow allocation and operational priorities.
n
Maintaining productivity, service standards and team engagement.
n
Supporting the management of manual application processes during a transition period.
n
Working closely with stakeholders across the business to address operational challenges.
n




Contributing to process improvements and ongoing business change initiatives.
n
Providing visible leadership and direction to a well-established team.
n

What you'll need to succeed
n
n
Previous leadership experience within insurance, claims, underwriting, policy administration or a related operational environment.
n
Strong people management and coaching skills.
n
Experience managing operational teams and workflow-driven environments.
n
The ability to lead teams through periods of change and transformation.
n
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
Experience in Home Warranty Insurance, Domestic Building Insurance (DBI) or a similar insurance environment will be highly regarded. However, broader insurance operations leadership experience will also be considered.
